Overview of the Rocket City Marathon

First run in 1977, the Rocket City Marathon is open to both individuals and husband/wife and parent/child teams. Known for its “gently rolling and fast” course, it offers a great opportunity for runners to achieve personal records (PR).

Race Route

• Start Location: Next to the VBC (Von Braun Center)
• Course Features:
  • Predominantly flat with gentle rolling sections
  • Passes through downtown Huntsville
  • Includes notable sites such as the Botanical Gardens and the Space and Rocket Center
  • Finishes indoors at the Von Braun Center, passing through Big Spring Park
